In his research, John Gottman identified two types of couples: the Masters and the Disasters.
The Masters more or less like each other and stay together, while the Disasters either break up or stay together and are unhappy.
As you can see, the standard for being a Master is pretty low. Everyone can do it.
It’s not about having a perfect relationship or even being the perfect partner.
As John Gottman explains . . . it’s about being kind, repairing when you hurt each other’s feelings, and always remembering that you’re on the same team.
