You can do this!

However, beginning meditation expectations can make starting quite disappointing. Many people begin with the expectation that their mind will quickly become quite and they can relax. It may be quite busy during meditation of a very long time and benefits still happen.

So, here is the benefit and the good news: one of the goals of meditation isn't to erase thoughts but to learn what to do inside as thoughts occur so your brain can relax, reset, and renew.  The better indication that meditation is helping you is how your life improve outside of your meditation time.  The progress signs of daily meditation might be that you become slower to anger, feel less frustration, and are able to make more reasonable choices in tough situations in relationships of all kinds--business, friends, spouse, and children.

Meditation Without Words is one of the most basic and simplest of the concentrations styles.  It follows the natural way that the brain and nervous system calms itself. Anyone can do it.

You will learn how to do focused meditation that uses concentrations on a sound of your choosing and simple diaphragm breathing in this class.  Learning and practicing meditation in a group can be most helpful in encouragement, shared experiences that validate what you are doing, and questions from others that you didn't know to ask,.  Studies show that group sessions often produce more benefit when learning something new.

Also, meditation with an experienced meditator helps quicken your skill and deepen your experience as well as the group. Don Elium has been in meditative practices for over 40 years and likes to sit and meditate with others regularly.

What is Meditation without Words and Mindfulness?

Meditation Without Words is a style that is softly focused, concentration on the breath and a sound that allows a more physical, mental and emotional calm. Over time with regular practice, this calm can take residence in your nervous system and help bring a more peaceful and self-aware manner in your daily life.  Mindfulness is the practice of softly bringing one's attention on the moment and the task at hand.  Meditation helps mindfulness. Mindfulness helps meditation. Together they help enrich your inner world and the your relationships.
